Lety

Lety's story should warm your heart. At a young age she was exposed to the gospel through a "helps organization". She wasn't impressed with the gospel and was very set in her traditions and non-receptive to hearing anything that contradicted her established belief system. She was happy with her idols, her parties and in general, her lifestyle.  Then Ana & her cousin Flora began to visit Lety's mom, another story in itself, who has been crippled with arthritis for many years now. Lety would become furious when she would hear them sharing the gospel with her mother, Tomasa,  from her hiding place. She refused to see them and would sit sometimes in tears of anger in her room. Her mom would challenge her and ask her why she was rejecting the Jesus of the Bible. "I hate them!" she would shout and start her crying all over again. She would pray to her idols who although they had ears, couldn't hear what she was praying. Her heart grew harder and harder. One day though, God's love broke through. Now Lety is a warrior princess that shares the gospel with anyone who will listen. She speaks openly of how she hated the gospel and us for sharing it in the past, but now she does so with tears of joy. Lety takes care of her mom who for several years hasn't been able to take care of herself. She has learned to give thanks to the Lord for her mother's physical state, even though she suffers so much along with her. She believes that because of her mother's sickness, that her and so many now in her family have been brought to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
