Exodus 18:17-18 And Moses' father-in-law said to him, The thing that you do is not good.  You will surely wear away, both you and this people that is with you. For this thing is too heavy for you; you are not able to perform it alone.

editor's note*We wanted you to know a little about Paul & Ruth from us here at Rancho Maranatha and since I do the web site...here it is..an update from Ana about two of our favorite people!

When I read this Scripture I marveled at God's grace to Moses. He gave him such a wise and caring father- in -law. Well, God gave my husband Daniel, Paul Wallestad.

We first met Paul and Ruth back in January of of 1997. From then on they have been coming to Mexico to help us here in the ranch six months out of the year. We wish they would stay year around, but they can't. The blessing they have been to us is beyond words can describe. Also to see their commitment to the Lord encourages us to do the same.

Paul helps with the groups that come, with all, and any project that needs to be done. He either does the work himself, or gets someone else to do it.  He also helps with any projects that need to be done in the communities we work with. He takes sick  people to the doctor, or any pregnant women that need to give birth. He already had a little boy named after him because he was the one that brought the mom back home from the hospital with her baby boy. He's such a faithful friend and adviser to my husband. Having him has made such a difference here in the ranch. He also goes to communities and shows Christian movies. He and Ruth are grandparents to the children here, they love them, and so do we.

Ruth is the official birthday cake baker. With so many children around it seems like she is always baking. We have her bake on so many other occasions too, what can I say, we love her baking!  I feel sorry for the children that have their birthdays the part of the year when she is not here.  Sometimes I'll be the one doing the cake, they're so gracious and tell me it's  good, but I know they wish Ruth was here. She cooks for the girls twice a week, or any time I need her to. They love her cooking too.
Ruth is such a valuable friend to me. I can always go to her with my concerns, or complaints. She listens to me and encourages me. When she's not here I write and confide in her that way too.  I appreciate having her so much and I love her.
We have been blessed the times she's taught a Bible Study too, since she's a gifted teacher.

Well, I could go on and on and tell you the so many things they do, but I won't. I'm just so thankful to God for having sent them to us. How He loves us and cares for us!

Pray that they continue to have good health,  for more lives to be touched by their great examples of servants of the Most High, for protection when they're driving their motor home, especially when driving on Mexico's highways.

My love to all of you,
Ana
